Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 12/29 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 12/30, 09:44 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 12/29, 23:56 UTC and that during the 9 hours & 45 minutes that it took to resolve the issue small percentage of customers would have experienced data latency.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue with the backend processing infrastructure, where some systems stopped processing incoming data.
  • Lessons Learned: Our Engineering team is reviewing available telemetry data during the incident to identify improvements to avoid further impact.

Root cause has been isolated to an issue with the backend processing infrastructure, where some systems stopped processing incoming data. Processing is now working as expected. Some customers may continue to experience data gaps and we estimate 4 hours before all latency is addressed.

Our DevOps team continues to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers continue to experience latency outside of SLA for their data. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
