Experiencing Alerting failure for Many Data Types – 8/18 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/19/2015, 01:18 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/13/2015, 19:00 UTC. Some customers may have experienced failures when creating and updating location based and response time alerts.

Root Cause: The failure was due to software bug, which caused failures under certain limited conditions.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

Root cause has been isolated to a software bug which was impacting creating and updating location based and response time alerts under certain conditions. To address this issue, DevOps has created and is in the process of deploying a hotfix. Some customers may continue to experience failures when creating and updating location based and response time alerts. We estimate 3 hours before for the issue to be completely mitigated.
