Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal – 8/18 – Resolved

Application Insights experienced an issue that caused the Application Insights Extensions to fail to load in the Azure Portal.  We have confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/18, 01:45 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/17, 18:00 UTC and that during the 7 hours and 45 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers may have been unable to load the Application Insights Extension.

Root Cause: Root cause is unclear at the moment and team is working on it.

Starting at 8/17/2015 18:00 UTC, Application Insights experienced an issue that caused the Application Insights Extensions to fail to load in the Azure Portal for approximately 1.5% of customers. To address this issue, we rolled back an earlier deployment and are in the process of validating all systems.
