Next up in our continued stream of releases of functionality in the Azure Portal come the capabilities for configuring Notifications, Notification templates and Identity providers.
API Management can send e-mail notifications when a number of system events occur, like for example new subscriptions being created. For each event, a list of e-mail addresses will be notified. The list can be set independently per notification:
The notifications mentioned above where one can set the recipients are currently only for system events. Besides these API Management also sends notifications directly to users (of the publisher’s API). For this type of notification it is often needed to modify the e-mail template to match the API publisher’s corporate image. This is possible within this section:
At present the system notifications from the prior section do not have editable templates, but there is also less of a need for that as they target people with the API publisher’s organization
Authentication to the Developer portal can be handled by a number of identity provider besides the built in basic authentication (username and password). There is support for the key social auth providers, AAD and also AAD B2C. B2C in its own right allows identities to be verified via a wide range of providers.
