Can’t believe it’s almost October. I haven’t blogged in a while, but it’s time I did.
- I wanted to say goodbye to my uncle, but I couldn’t, and now this is as good as its going to get. After a long battle with lung and throat cancer, my uncle passed away a few weeks back. Ever since he got diagnosed (8 months back), I’ve been wanting to pick up the phone and call him, but I never did. And now, I can’t. This is bitter-sweet, because in some preposterous way, we’re all supposed to be happy that he doesn’t have to suffer anymore (as much as he did during his last few weeks).
- (on a completely separate note) I wanted to say goodbye to my good friend and colleague, Rory Blyth, who is switching jobs and moving to the Channel9 team (Rory’s exit interview, Rory’s post). For those of you who don’t know, Rory is one of those guys who gets “it”. He knows and understands, well, almost everything really, and has always been able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I love him for that. He’s one of those guys who I can sit down and chat with about the Himalayas or Esperanto or Homeopathy or sharks, and he’d always have a very interesting and clever opinion about whatever it is that we were talking about. This is bitter-sweet because I’ll miss him on our team probably more than anyone else will, but I’m happy (I guess) that he’s been able to find a kickass position at C9.
Goodbye, for now.
