Chicago Girls in Tech - Meet Aveda at the Microsoft Store April 21st - HURRY!

Hello! I wish I had thought to share this sooner so I apologize if you’re seeing this too late to get in on the April event, but there will be more!  As you may know, I am also a Managing Director for Chicago Girls in Tech.  A group focused on reaching out to girls/women of all ages and backgrounds to help them enter, or re-enter a technology-related career path.  We’re not just talking about computer programming either. We embrace all technology-related professions including (but not limited to) quality assurance, digital marketing, design, database, business analysts, program managers, analysts and more!  So if you fall into this category, or would like to, check us out!  Here are some details on our next event, as well as a registration link below… https://chicago.girlsintech.net/

Aveda is the first beauty company to manufacture with 100% certified wind power. They fulfill their mission by providing high performing products that are good for their guests and the Earth. Aveda, as part of Earth Month, is also holding a number of fundraising events in store right now to raise donations for clean water. Over 11 million U.S. dollars have been raised for environmental and social causes to date through their Earth Month campaigns! For this upcoming event, Aveda is going to talk to us about basic make-up techniques, quick and easy application as well as how to style hair in just minute’s time. There will be a product demonstration and a bounce-back offer for all attendees - if you purchase any 2 products shown during the demo/presentation, you will receive a free personal blend pure-fume aroma value $20! Time permitting, they have also offered to do lip finishing touch ups for interested guests attending the event too! :)

As an added bonus, we will be hosting the event at the Microsoft retail store in Oak Brook Mall. After the Aveda demonstration, there will also be an opportunity to tour the store, try out the new Window's Phones, slate devices, a large variety of laptops and PCs, and my favorite thing - the Kinect! More info on the Microsoft Store can be found here: https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Locations/oakbrook. A little bird told me that the Microsoft store will be sharing some valuable “Friends and Family” discount coupons for Chicago Girls in Tech attendees!!  Please be sure to register using the link below.

As always the event will begin with heavy snacks and sandwiches, followed by some time for meeting new people and networking before the session begins. Please be sure to register so that we can make sure to have enough food and drinks on hand for everyone!
