With the New Year finally here, many of us have made resolutions to make our lives better in 2010. If one of yours is to find a new job and get your resume in shape, the Chicago Girls in Tech January Event is just for you! And do please keep in mind, if you work with technology IN ANY WAY, you are a “girl in tech”. This group is not just for programmers, and is also open to not only professionals but students and hobbyists as well.
On January 28th, 2010, Tiara Lynn Agresta (a extremely talented woman and good friend of mine) will be helping us polish our resumes and get them just right. Tiara will be covering:
- Resume Do's and Don'ts
- The foolproof cover letter
- Making online job-hunting easier
- The right and wrong way to use social networking
- Top interview tips you haven't heard
Bring your resume, this will be a working session, and will be limited to 35 participants.
Whether you are looking for a new job or just polishing your resume (like you should every 6 months!), this event will help you get that resume looking its best. Refreshments (snacks and drinks) will be served. Cost of event ($6.26 total) helps to fund this and future events like it. Hope to see you there!
