SharePoint 2010 User Profile Sync: Could not find MOSS MA despite being marked as fully configured, was it deleted?


Generally, the issue is that the following service is not running:

This would most probably also cause the disappearance of your AD connection from User Profile Sync connections. 

Starting the service would take care of both of the above issues.
