Joining with the online Web App, you will be prompted to install the Lync Web App Plugin for Internet Explorer. (7 – 8 MBs) The plugin is not supported in IE 11, so if you are using Windows 8.1, you will need to switch back to IE10 mode. This blog post explains how to do it: https://tiny.cc/9t6e2w P.S.
