What language are you

When I was a kid it was common to imagine your name to be an acronym and show the expanded form.

Since I’m still a kid at heart and I am super-bored I’ll do that again but this time as a geek I’ll use programming languages….

Algol
Basic
Haskell
IPL
Nroff
Ada
BCPL
APL

That N almost had me, took some time to remember a language starting with it.So if you have some time to waste think of something similar, and no searching on the net for the language names.

    Sounded interesting, so here goes:

    P – Python

    A – Ada

    N – ???

    D – Delphi

U – UML (guess I can call it a language)

    R – Ruby

A – A# (oh yeah, Ada for .NET)

    N – ???

G – Gyro (Again, not sure!)

N is real hard, I have to admit.

Nemerle is a .NET-enabled language developed by some grad students in Poland, or something. I forget the background. I just remember that the name comes from Ursula K. LeGuin’s Wizard of Earthsea, which was one of my favorite books as a kid. My misfortune is having two ns in my name. Nemerle was easy, but the second wasn’t. I had to cheat and use Wikipedia.

    Java

    Oberon

    Nemerle

    Ada

    Tcl

    Haskell

    Algol
