Uninstalling the Visual Studio 2008 RTM or RC

If you’re having issues installing Visual Studio 2008 RTM and had installed Visual Studio 2008 RC or if you want to remove it.  You might want to consider using the following tool, which cleanly removes Visual Studio 2008 RC or RTM.

NOTE: this tool does not remove .NET Framework 3.5.  You should use the following .NET Framework uninstall tool to do so.

    I use a 5 year old ASUS A6U laptop; AMD Turion64 MT30 CPU; 3/4GB  memory; XP Home with SP3

I use this computer for email, paying bills online, and not much else.

I am not particulary computer literate – I am not into developing web sites or doing anything other than domestic personal computing.

I always download Microsoft's updates, but since .NET Framework I have had nothing but trouble – the computer has slowed to a crawl, my 32GB hard drive is running all the time; I started to get HD Full messages, and had to remove most of my photos, photo manipulating software, and music to flash drives.

Do I need .NET Framework – and if not, can I remove it safely?
